The next meeting will be held on February 14 (Valentines Day). In the spirit of the day, the President’s challenge is to create a duo, or paired set of items. For example, salt and pepper shakers, or a bookmatched, veneered item. Use your imagination.
The demo for the meeting will be a hands-on style conversation about the relative merits of various bowl gouge grinds (the traditional 50-60 degree grind, the newer 40/40 Stuart Batty style grind, etc.). Everyone will have a chance to play. Also, everyone is invited to bring their personal favorite bowl gouge and discuss why they like that particular grind. Bring it sharp, as someone may want to test drive it.
